Pedantry Digest

Bloor Street West, just west of Avenue Road. This is the almost-finished infastructure for the new postmodern, to-be very shiny add-on to the Royal Ontario Museum. I know the construction workers have been putting their blood, sweat, and tears into this thing and that the engineers are probably putting their best efforts into making this sturdy, but, truly, nothing about it screams "structural integrity" to me. Eeech.





Almost identical location as the last photo, just approaching the construction site. As far as high-contrast aesthetics go (because I know the composition is far from perfect), I love the rain-soaked-and-therefore-nearly-black trees sandwiching the bright, neon street sign. Plus the arrows are just funny-looking (not that they don't have a purpose, but still).





Essentially the same location as the last two photos. Presumably, these are the engineers, architects, and/or contractors of the new-fangled ROM add-on. People line up to have their photo taken all the time so there is nothing remotely unusual about this scene. But, still, I couldn't pass up the chance to take a picture of all these people posed and smiling, but not facing me. I suppose I was...charmed?...by the idea.





Ontario Institue for Studies in Education, in the library, in the stairwell from the 2nd floor down to the mezzanine. This was the first "light" (literal and figurative) that I saw just minutes after completing my final exam of the semester. Please don't ask me how it went. It's just done.





University of Victoria College campus (E. J. Pratt Library, ground floor), just east of University Avenue, looking out over both Queen's Park and the Faculty of Law. I know you heard me clicking away with my camera and you knew I was looking out the window, but I'm not entirely convinced that you knew that I taking your photo as you sorted through your Calculus papers. I wish you the best of luck on your last final exam of your first year in university, Peter. But, trust me, you don't need it.
